The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, has inaugurated the advanced version of the Driving License Information Management System (DLIMS) known as DLIMS 2.0. This system offers enhanced traffic services, notably enabling residents of Punjab to submit online applications for learner driving licenses.
In a statement shared on X (previously Twitter), Interim Chief Minister Naqvi expressed, “We have embraced digitalisation to simplify the process of obtaining a learner’s license! You can now conveniently apply online through the Police Police app, available at 737 police stations and all Khidmat Markaz throughout Punjab.”
The upswing in learner driving license requests in Punjab is a result of the government’s strict measures against underage drivers and those operating vehicles without a valid license. The Punjab Police reports a staggering issuance of over 100,000 driving licenses daily.
For those interested in applying for a learner driving license online, the DLIMS 2.0 website at https://dlims.punjab.gov.pk/ or the Punjab Police app on the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store can be utilised.
However, it’s crucial to note that the heightened demand for DLIMS 2.0 has led to frequent service disruptions on both the website and the Punjab Police app. As of this writing, both platforms are experiencing intermittent functionality, presenting considerable challenges for citizens.
Punjab Introduces E-Driving License Feature
The Punjab Police has introduced an e-driving license feature province-wide, allowing individuals to obtain a digital copy of their driving license through the Driving License Information Management System (DLMIS) website.
The e-driving license can be downloaded in PDF format directly to your mobile device.
Simultaneously, Punjab has significantly upgraded its driving license centres, expanding from 45 centres across the province to over 200.

Visit dlims.punjab.gov.
Navigate to the ‘License Info’ tab and select ‘E-License.’
Enter your CNIC and select your date of birth.
Confirm “I’m not a robot” and click ‘Verify.’
Download your E-Driving License.
